Coffin, Drum & Poles
When you place the coffin and drum remember that our "Vang" family places the head of the deceased on the left side.
Peb ro taw noog nruag
The drum is always on the side of the head
As explained in "16th Meeting - 05/26/2019"- "Coffin, deceased body and drum positioning at day of funeral, how to tie the drum"
You want to use the drum someone raised (nruag yug) not the drum someone made (nruag zoj). The raised one is usually one you can hit from both sides. The made one you can only hit on one side. When you barrow a drum from someone, remember that you are to never let it touch the floor. If you use the made drum, remember that the side that you hit must face the deceased person
when you hang the drum, you are not to hang or let it touch the ncej cub. (See image below for reference)

This drawing is a view of the front of the old hmong houses and shows how funerals where set up in the old days.
For our Vang family we have to pay attention to how the feet head and drum is positioned. We use the same positioning
when we have our funerals
