When someone passes, first steps

Reference Class Meeting on 10/06/22

Currently the process is to dress the deceased in the clothing that the person will be wearing permenantly for the entire funeral then play Zaaj Qeej Tsaa

If the person passes away at a hospital and play the Qeej is not allowed. This can be done after the body is moved to a morge or before the start of a actual funeral. Reference Class Meeting on 10/06/22 (01. 1st steps, Zaaj Qeej Tsaa , Clothes & holding deceased))

Zaaj Qeej Tsaa
It's best if one of the Son's on the deceased plays zaaj qeej tsaa.
If no one in the immediate family knows how to play this song. Then make sure you hire someone to do it for you.
If you don't pay the person to do this. It translates to the person gaining all of your parents blessing and good fortune.
If there is a qeej inside the house, have the person playing the zaaj qeej tsaa use that qeej, inside of that person's qeej.
It's best to keep a Qeej in the house

Prepare a brand new "white" cloth for when it time to ntxuav koob hmoov during this zaaj qeej
Hint : you pour a beer and can ask the person playing the qeej to tell you when this time is as well.

Zaaj Qeej Tsaa is not needed if the deceased is a younger person with no children. But should be preformed for everyone who has kids no matter the age

Asking someone to play Zaaj Qeej Tsaa
Pull the person to sit at a table, pour only one cup of beer and remember to bow.
